Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Haaapppyy Anniversary!

To celebrate our fifth anniversary (can you believe it has been five years? Five glorious years!!) we took another trip to our favorite shore location, Cape May. This time we stayed at Poor Richard's Inn for three nights and had a wonderful vacation.

I decided to try something different this year and get Isaac something he actually wanted for Father's Day (novel idea). So we went fishing on the ocean. It was a lot of fun. We took off from the harbor at 8am and got back at noon. We didn't have any fish to show for our long voyage, but we saw a pod of dolphins about five feet from the boat, which was very cool. I didn't get any great pictures of them because I was too excited.

The fishing poles had 8 oz of weight on them, and when the boat stopped, we dropped them straight down onto the ocean floor (about 30 feet). Four people caught fish, one person caught a little shark, but we came up empty handed.

There were actually a lot of dolphins, and they were really close to us, but this picture was taken of a few from far away. Doesn't quite capture the moment... But as I look at the picture, it looks like a shark. That would be a better story.

As long as the boat was moving, I was fine. When we stopped to fish, however, the seas got a little rough and I started getting sick.

Happy Father's Day, Isaac. I love you a million brazillians.

Isaac the lifeguard

I probably shouldn't be sitting in the lifeguard's chair since I can't even swim.

The beach on the first day was pretty much deserted and it was pretty chilly. When we went back on Saturday, however, there were people everywhere, the sun was out, and we had a great time. We spent the entire day on the beach- boogy boarding, swimming, watching surfers, reading, eating Tommy's Hotdogs...

Isaac wants to take up surfing after he saw how easy it looked. Key word- "looked".

Our first clam experience. They were really good!

On our way back from Cape May, we stopped in Atlantic City, but left the camera in the car. We walked along the boardwalk, saw St. James Place and other Monopoly "squares" and headed for home. Now we are back to real life, sweating in our non-airconditioned house, slaving away at work... I wish it was our anniversary every week.
