Isaac and I were planning a trip to Utah to see family in October instead of going out for Christmas. A week before our planned departure, Isaac’s sweet grandmother passed away. We really wanted to be in Utah for the funeral, so we changed our tickets and flew out a bit early.
We flew in on Saturday, went out to brunch and did some shopping with my parents, and then spent the rest of the day with Isaac’s family. I had a strange rash on my leg, and during conference on Sunday Isaac’s dad informed me that I had shingles. Isaac’s mom agreed, and they looked it up on the internet to be sure. I freaked out a bit since it said I should stay away from young children and pregnant women. Two thirds of our family consists of small children and pregnant gals!! So before the viewing on Sunday night, Isaac and I went to the doctor and sure enough, I had shingles. They gave me an antiviral medication that I had to take five times a day. My shingles are almost gone now, and thankfully they don’t itch anymore! It got pretty bad for a day or two; I thought I was going to have to cut my leg off.
On Monday evening we went to the new Junction in Ogden with Chase, Mason, Summer, Corey, and the Gparents. It was great fun. The little boys rock climbed, we watched people do the surfing simulation, and spent waaaay too much money on the arcade. On Tuesday we got together with Jenny, Saltz, Cheryl, and Avery and went to Café Rio. And the Junction. Apparently we love that place. (I was looking for a website about the Junction, but came across this awesome website for Ogden City. Dan, maybe you should help them with their web design!)
