I'm It

I've been tagged, so here you go: 8 random things about me.

1. My BFF Jenny and I dream of opening up our own craft/decorating shop someday. I’ll wear cowboy boots to work and she’ll wear some amazing jacket.

2. I worry about everything. I hate it when Isaac goes in a car, anywhere, without me, and I really can't stand it when he has to fly. I had a lovely trip to St. Louis last year because I couldn't let Isaac go by himself. I spent the days wondering around the streets by myself (not a great idea, in hindsight) and holed up in the hotel room. I am dreading his conference in March- I guess I just need to have enough vacation time to go with him.

3. I love to write, and I used to write tons and tons of poems. I have 2 books full (The Book of Sara Vol. I & II) and a three ring binder overflowing with those that didn’t make the cut. I haven't written anything since I've been married (I guess Isaac just takes the angst right out of me!), but I was actually good back in the day.

4. I’ve never been out of the country (well, okay, I’ve been to Tijuana).

5. I hate spending money. When we are with Isaac’s family, all of the guys sit around and complain that they can’t get their wives to stop buying things, and Isaac says, “I wish I could get Sara to buy something!” I have severe buyer’s remorse and end up taking back most of what I buy. If it wasn’t for Isaac, I would live in an empty house and go to work naked. When I was in college, I couldn’t even bring myself to spend money on groceries. There are lots of things I want, sure, like a camera, a new stove, more home decor, carpet, a finished basement…. but I just can’t bring myself to spend the money! When I was a kid, I used to worry that my dad would lose his job and we would go broke- I would ask my parents all the time how our money situation was. Not sure the root of this obsession...

6. I’ve always wanted to be an actress. In middle school I had an audition for Church films, but I chickened out and didn’t go (oh, the things we regret). My senior year of high school I was an extra in Drive Me Crazy, and it was one of the coolest things ever. We worked for 8 hours, all through the night, for a 1 minute scene. I was a huge fan of Clarissa Explains It All, so I sang the theme song to Melissa Joan Hart. She was less than impressed, but the other extras thought it was funny.

7. My first kiss was Isaac's best friend.

8. I love Matlock. I was called to jury duty while in college, and I kept praying that they would pick me because I have always wanted to sit on a jury. My prayer was answered! It was an amazing 3 week long case, and I loved every minute of it. The next semester I took a Psychology and Law class and decided that I would persue a career in the field of jury selection (I had forgotten all about this... I guess I better start polishing up the ol' resume).
