We had such a great time when the film crew were in town. After filming the activity on Wednesday and interviewing each of the kids, they "spotlighted" three of the youth and filmed them at school, in their homes, and going about their typical day. They spent Thursday and Friday doing this and shooting film of some Philly sights.
On Saturday, they started the day by filming the YM at their two basketball games. The YM did awesome in the first game (the semi-finals) but had a rough go in the finals and lost. Luckily, the crew got most of their footage during the good game! They also got some great shots of Eric dunking.
We then headed to the church, where they filmed the YW reenacting their class. It was then the YMs turn, and they were filmed prepping the sacrament. We had a bunch of ward members come so we could reenact sacrament meeting (our ward's the best- they get dressed up and come to church two days in a row!). Gerald did a good job of giving the "talk", we sang a few songs, had the YM pass the sacrament, etc. Afterwards we had a pizza party (thanks, Bro. Tanner!) and took some more shots of the youth around the building- reading scriptures, talking, etc.
They also interviewed all of the youth leaders, and Isaac went last. It made for a VERY long, but wonderful, day. Isaac's interview lasted for about an hour- he did an amazing job. The three CES guys, me, and of course Isaac, all had tears streaming down our faces- it was a very emotional hour! Isaac has been working so hard, and he loves these youth so much. He's pretty amazing.
Bro. Tanner, Chris, and Brady were so great. They fell in love with the youth immediately and didn't want to leave! They overnighted a set of scriptures for each of the three highlighted youth, Tyree loves his "quadruple bible". One of the crew even offered to pay for the mission of the first young man who is ready to go!!
This experience has been awesome. We are going to be starting the second round of fund raising soon- we would like to get each of the youth their own scriptures, a journal, and some other items that they will need for the big trip! We have received so many donations-we are constantly blown away by the everyone's generosity. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Anything we can do to give our youth a better chance of staying in the gospel is well worth it. We love these kids.

That is so exciting. I love the slide show, what a cool thing. So as to continue our conversation, how much longer does Isaac have until he graduates? Sounds like a tough field, and I read earlier that you recently received a promotion, cool. My family is doing well. Rob will shortly become a father here soon, crazy eh. Ann goes to Utah State studying dietetics, and Gwen as you know teaches school in SF where I live. Sorry so long. Take care.
