a happy mothers day

How could it not be? Sorry gals, but I really do have the best husband ever, and just take a look at my daughter. Sheesh, I'm luuuucky.

I slept in until 9, then woke up to find this:

Then it was off to church. A few weeks ago I got a call from a member of the bishopric asking me to give a talk on Mother's Day. I started crying when he asked me because, well, usually mother's give talks on Mother's Day... so that must mean I am a mother!! My talk was about adoption and infertility, because two things couldn't be closer to my heart.

After speaking for 20 minutes, I went back down to sit with Isaac and almost collapsed out of exhaustion. I had a splitting headache and was shaking. There was a LOT of emotion that went into that talk, and I was wiped out.

After church, I relaxed and played with Haze while Isaac slaved away in the kitchen. He wouldn't even let me walk into the same room as him; he didn't want to ruin the surprise. {I love him}

Steak, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, rolls, cream soda, and mashed sweet potatoes in orange cups. Fancy pants!

And then, in his crowning gesture of love, Isaac wrote me a blog post, an awesome card, and an emotional letter. We cried a lot of happy tears that day.

Yay for Mother's Day!

P.S. To our Mothers, we love you and miss you and wished we could have shared the day with you. You mean the world to us. xoxo

Happy Mother's Day! I bet you soaked up every waking minute of this day!
And...I bet that your husband has been waiting for the day to celebrate Mother's Day w/you!
You were truely spoiled! I hope it lasts in the years to come!!!
I got chills when you typed "my daughter", because she REALLY IS YOUR daughter!
I am waiting to say those same words for my little foster daughter.

Does Isaac give lessons on how to impress your wife? If so he needs to teach his brother.
