flu shot fieldtrip

A few weeks ago we drove up to Reading, PA to get a flu shot for Hazel. Yes, I'm a paranoid mom, but I just couldn't rest at night until she had this shot. So we drove, she got it, and I feel better.

When we pulled into this small town, the streets were lined with cars, there wasn't a parking spot in site, and  looking down the road to where we were supposed to go get the shot, we saw hoards of people. We knew that in some places people stood in line for hours to get this shot, so I chose a rural place, far from the city, for the sole purpose of avoiding such lines. Much to our chagrin, it looked like we hadn't traveled far enough.

We parked many blocks away and started the trek to the clinic. After getting out of our car, we heard sirens, music, and lots of yelling. There was a parade! Phew. It took us five minutes to get through the line at the clinic (because everyone was watching the parade) and then we enjoyed a nice breakfast and site seeing around the town.

so glad this wasn't a line!

A parade! How funny. Jenny took our kids to get a flu shot and ended up standing in line in the pour rain for two hours before giving up and coming home. Glad you had a good experience with it.
Your daughter is so cute. Hope y'all have a Merry Christmas.
