the birthday week rundown

Days one and two: Of course we did something awesome, but I can't quite remember what it was. Totally fun, though. I'm sure.

Day three: Jazz game boys night, with Sara playing the waitress. Those lucky guys got two rounds of seven layer dip, surprise cupcakes, root beer, jerky, a Jazz win, and a night without nagging wives.

Day four: Our friend Will came into town for an interview and spent a few days with us. He and Isaac got some scrapple for lunch, then joined me at home for an evening of deep frying chocolate grease sponges cake donuts.

Day five: Dinner and games at Dave&Busters. We walked away the proud owners of some awesome candy and super challenging chinese finger trap, thanks to my mad skills on the coin drop.

Day six: We spent the morning on a tour of the Eastern State Penitentiary, followed by lunch at a strangely decorated but tasty Italian restaurant. The night was topped off with deep fried shrimp and oreos, and an all-night tank shoot-out on the Wii.

Day seven: awesome birthday episode of church

Party Hearty, day eight: No magician this year, but we had a good time none the less. I did dabble in the disappearing foam balls when I was a kid, I should have whipped some of those out and wowed the crowd.
getting ready for the party

I made Isaac's favorite 'Death by PB and Chocolate' cake, PBcup cupcakes, white grape juice and raspberry cupcakes (not so good), and Jen's chocolate ganache.

it was past someone's bedtime (hazel's, not mine. ok, mine too.)

Happy Birthday, Isaac! You really, truly, 100 percent, are perfect for me. You are an amazing daddy, my best friend, and a dang good kisser.

Hazel and I love you {sooooooo} much.

Let's see. Dip, cupcakes, root beer, jerky, scrapple, choc. donuts, candy, fried shrimp, fried oreos, raspberry cupcakes, choc. ganache. Try to exercise some common sense, some self-control. Please!

Actually, some of that sounds pretty good. How's about we try some in May.

And how about that bathing beauty of a granddaughter!!!

Love to the three of you.
