utah trip {vol 1}

Isaac had a conference in New Orleans a few weeks ago, so Hazel and I headed to Utah. It was my first time ever flying on a plane without another adult- actually, without a person of the male gender. Whether my dad, a brother, or Isaac, I've never been without a strong man to put my bags in the overhead or comfort me during turbulence.

I was pretty nervous about holding an incredibly wiggly 11 month old on my lap for 4 hours, but Hazel did really good. I made her a toy/cover that slid over the tray table, and it kept her entertained for quite a while. I even got complimented by another mother on my great idea! One of these days I'll remember to take a picture of it so you other poor folks flying solo with a lap baby can copy my genious idea :)

While in Utah, we did what we always do- eat at Cafe Rio, shop at DI, and spend time with family. Really, does anything else matter?

Wherever Hazel was, you were guaranteed to find her surrounded by her adoring fans.

This picture of my twin nephews cracks me up. They are just playing around, minding their own business... and doing exactly the same thing.

Ok, it's late, Isaac's snoozing peacefully next to me and I need to join him in dream land. (Last night I had a dream that it was Hazel's birthday party and I forgot everything! There were no decorations, no food, no matching hats... oh the horror.) More pictures of our trip to come...
