happy birthday, home style

After getting out of the hospital, we decided to run some errands and buy Hazel a birthday present. What kind of parents are we to not have anything to give our child on her birthday?! Oh, the horror that I, as the biggest lover of birthdays ever, was a birthday failure. After getting Hazel some birthday balloons, we set out to find the perfect toy, but couldn't find one we loved. We were all so tired that we gave up and headed home.

Our dear friend Jen not only had dinner waiting for us, but she made Hazel a birthday cake. She saved the day from being a total birthday fail!

Right after we walked in the door. Have you ever seen a baby so happy to have her freedom? After a quick change of clothes she was good as new!
The sweet gifts from Arlianne
After she stuffed herself with cake, Hazel went right to the tub, then to her very own crib where no one woke her up multiple times a night to torture her. She slept 13 hours straight, just like every birthday girl deserves. I can't wait till my birthday, thirteen hours sounds about right.

I still cannot believe that my baby is one.
Best year ever.

I'm so glad you're home! And that Hazel is looking so good and well. Yay!

What a great idea to donate items for RMH. They are such a wonderful support to families.
