happy mother's day

On my 2nd official Mother's Day, I slept in until 9:30 and awoke to a most lovely breakfast with my two favorite people.

Homemade cinnamon rolls, Belgium waffles with strawberries and whipped cream, and Mother's Day Syrup (created by Isaac with cinnamon and oj... yum).
Look at those teeth!

Hazel, darling as she is, was such a stinker during church. Isaac wanted to take care of her during all of the meetings so I could actually attend a class or listen to the speakers. After Sacrament Meeting, I asked Isaac if he understood why Sundays are so hard for me. He said, "I don't know why you don't just go home!". Hazel is such a wiggle worm, and so very opinionated. But darling- did you see those teeth?!

After church we did a little Mother's Day photo shoot, followed by the same dinner menu from last year (why mess with perfection?).

i love this picture, it sums up our tiring day perfectly!

I love being a mother. Some days are hard, but every day I am grateful for my sweet Hazel and the huge blessing that she is to our family.

As I crawled into bed that night, I took a few minutes to write in my journal. Then I glanced back at entries from the past year, and stopped to read my thoughts from the day that Hazel was sealed to us.

The sealer told us, "No matter what happens, you must always love her."

No matter how tired I am, how much I wish she would sit still in church, no matter how much food she throws off her tray to feed Dax, I love her. And I will always love her, no matter what.

Hazel is incredible. And I am so blessed to be her mother.

One day you will get to sit in church and listen. I don't know when, I haven't reached that magic day yet.
Your breakfast looks delicious. The only thing I could think of while looking at it though was "I wouldn't be able to eat any of that. Too many carbs." I'm glad you enjoyed it though.
Glad you're back blogging. I missed you guys.
See you soon!

Oh I could only imagine how powerful that moment was in the sealing room!

She is so cute and easy to love! Aren't all kids?! Oh wait don't ask me that at the dinner time hour...
