the sunshine state

A week after we got home from Lake Powell, we packed the bags again and headed to Naples, Florida! Isaac was presenting at a conference (he's a rockstar) so Haze and I tagged along. We spent a lot of time napping, playing on the beach, shopping, and eating seafood.

 

This trip marked the 17th state that Hazel has been to (she's a rockstar too).

first day in the ocean. the water was 94 degrees. that's right, 94. 

we fulfilled one of Isaac's life long dreams to ride an air boat through the Everglades

this creepy guy went along for the ride

we were visited by these rabies-infested animals

and cheated death when this 10 foot gator became "agitated". we are still not sure if the guide was putting on a show or if the gator really was about to eat us. 

 

all in all it was a great ride!

just when you think you've seen hazel the cutest she could possibly be- you put ear protectors on her and she takes it up a notch.

then she starts dancing and spinning in circles to the band (of engineering professors) and you realize there must not be an end to her cuteness.

 

Hazel loved the water, the sand, the shells, and getting to spend so much time with her daddy-o. Isaac loved the thunderstorms, water slide, and getting his presentation done with the first day so he didn't have to worry about it all week. I loved that I was forced to do nothing but read or sleep while Hazel was taking her naps. 

Good trip, team. Let's go again.
