more flags, more fun

On the last full day of their visit, we borrowed a car from a friend and headed to Six Flags. We realized it would be a little cheaper for our family to buy season passes and then use the free guest passes for their family. I was a little skeptical about having a season pass as I didn't think Six Flags really sounded like something fun for Hazel that we would be going back to, but boy, was I wrong! We had a great time on the rides, watching the dolphin, tiger, and elephant shows, seeing the sharks, eating, and especially visiting the clapping walrus.

haha, linc's face. winding up to hit chase...
followed by corey telling him to stop hitting his brother. classic.

this ride was delayed for about five minutes because the ride attendant said the little girl needed to sit in the front seat. the mom attempted for five full minutes to get the screaming girl out of the back seat, but couldn't do it. she just kept saying, 'i'm not strong enough!' the little girl was holding on to the ride with all her strength, which was apparently more than her moms! finally after five minutes (that is a lot of time to try and pull a screaming toddler off a ride) the dad decided to step in and get the girl off. they then attempted to put her in the front seat, but she was so hysterical they eventually gave up and took her off the ride.

mason was glad when the ride could finally go, i think it was his favorite of the day :)

Jocko and his fellow walruses were in the movie '50 First Dates', and they also use their vocalizations as the sounds the velociraptors make in 'Jurassic Park', and something in 'Lord of the Rings' too. This awesome walrus also likes to clap- very loudly- to music. Hazel has talked about the 'clapping walrus' almost every single day since we saw him.

We arrived at opening and left when the park closed- it was a fun day!

The next morning Summer and family packed up their car and headed back to Utah. Hazel was heartbroken and assured me that she was leaving with them, but she would come back and visit me soon. We had SO much fun with them, and Hazel just adores her cousins (I think the feeling is mutual). There were lots and lots of tears when they drove away. Thank you so much for coming to visit, Summer & Corey & boys!!

We didn't have too much time to be sad, as a few hours later my sister and her family pulled up, and another week of fun began....
