The Best

Last week, Isaac was in San Francisco at a conference, so my BBFF Jenny E.F. Frame came to visit. We had so much fun!
We sewed and sewed and sewed.

Jenny figured out how to do the lining in our bags the night before she left- so our first bags aren't the best, but at least now we know how to do zippers!

my first attempt

Jenny is a creative genius and came up with this "seamless tote bag". We even used grommets for the first time. Isaac was sad he missed out on all of the excitement.

Jenny's collection of beautiful bags.

Jenny's J bag.

My favorite bag I made- a pen and pencil holder.

We also made some felt people

My kidnapper

Jenny put her one armed frog on a purse.

We made skirts & wristbands out of the coolest material I've ever seen.

We made awesome sweater mittens- good find, Jenny EF.

And aprons with handkerchiefs and pretty, frilly ribbon. Ahoy, matey.

Jenny chipped her tooth... she won't be breaking thread with her teeth anymore!

Our biggest project of the week was to redo the bedroom. Isaac hated our dresser (and since it got really damaged during our move over a year and a half ago, who can blame him?) so I decided to buy us two dressers, new curtains, a new bedspread, put some new pictures on the wall, get a new vanity, and organize our closets. I really like the way it turned out! Finding a new quilt was very difficult- especially when trying to match the blue walls that I am not too fond of (but we just didn't have time to paint!). After buying, and returning, 6 different bedspreads, I finally settled on one, and am pretty happy with it.

Before:

After:

Now we both have our own dressers- and even an empty drawer!

Isaac also really disliked our laundry baskets, so I got an ottoman to serve as a hamper.

And I made this pillow out of an old tshirt:

We also put some vinyl on the wall above the bed. Gotta love Napoleon Dynamite.

And made these side pockets to hold books, scriptures, etc. Isaac loves them so much, he wants me to make another pocket for our laptops. Good thing they were easy!

I am so lucky that my BBFF Jenny came- what would I do without her? She's the best.

so that sounds like the best weekend ever! Sewing and decorating - love it!
Ok, I don't know where to start - I love the grommets and I love that you said "bread spread". The side pockets on your bed are very very cool and I'm way jealous of your empty dresser drawer!

You did all this in a week??? Husbands should go out of town more often, maybe we'd all be more productive! Just kidding. But way to go! I love it all!

Oh and I have one more thing to say, as cool as those wristbands may be . . . . they don't have magical powers. I wore mine during a must win tennis match thinking I could not lose with such style and although I received many compliments I did not receive a win.

WELL DONE, GIRLS! I feel so unproductive. Now, come to my house and make me some of those bedside pockets. I need them. Jenny, you chipped your tooth on THREAD? I guess you better come to Logan and see Dr. Doug at Small Smiles. He will help you.

Yaaay Jenny Frame! And good work, you two. But why does Jenny Frame love one-armed frogs? She is puzzling, indeed.

I didn't know you were so good with the sewing machine! Those are really cute projects, that is what I call them because I rarely attempt but if I do it definitely becomes a project. That is so cool to see Jenny too. I used to see her occasionally in Logan when we lived up there. Tell her hi!
