I am the founder and chair of the "Fun Committee" at work, so my committee and I planned a great staff retreat on Friday. We started the day by going on a trolley tour of Philly, which even the native Phillians enjoyed....

...then went to this fancy restaurant, and ate to our hearts' content....
... and ended the day at this place. After playing game after game after game, all of my coworkers went home- and Isaac came and played with all of their leftover tokens. We played about $150 worth of games, and won over 7,000 tickets! It was SO much fun (especially since we didn't pay a dime).
Isaac played this wheel game (were you stop the light by hitting a button) and won the 1,000 ticket jackpot not once, but twice!
The tickets just kept coming and coming....
Even after buying all of this, we still had about 100 tickets leftover. We bought toys for our surrogate niece and nephew, a Phillies ball and skull and crossbones pillow for Dax, a sweet shower radio, a t-shirt and soccer ball for Isaac, and a soccer ball for the YM.
What else have we been up to?
- Our co-ed softball team finished up the season with a heartbreaking loss, even after Isaac hit a 3-run homer, a triple, and two singles. I, unfortunately, got thrown out at first for all my at-bats, but my hits were better than they've been all season.
- We had our year-review adoption homestudy and are good to go for another year (egh, please tell me it won't be that long!!)
- The basement is coming along, quickly! Last weekend I helped hang a ton of sheetrock and hung almost all of the insulation (I was itching like crazy). Then Kurt and Josh came the rescue and now we are almost done (with the sheetrock, at least). Yay, maybe we will be done before Christmas.
- We had a nice 4th of July (went to a BBQ, played the Wii) but didn't set off a single firework. For a former "Golden Dragon Girl" (me) and a current pyro (Isaac) this was a bizarre and tragic turn of events from our typical celebration. Maybe we'll have to break out the fireworks on the 24th and claim a religious celebration when the cops come.
And just because you haven't seen enough pictures of us lately, here is another one to tide you over until the next post.

I'm so jealous that you live back east! I wish we could live someplace cool (literally and figuartively since Phoenix is anything but cool). Glad to see you're doing well!
So happy to see yo blogging again! I miss it when you don't post any thing for a long time! I'd love to see some updated pics of the basement. Love ya Mom
that makes work fun. I need something like that. You got some really cool stuff.
We are excited to see you. We just got back from Vacation so I will bug James to call you. He will do it but, on his own time I guess.
You two are such an awesome couple! I love reading your blog. I've been including your pass along cards in all my bills.
I'VE BEEN TO THAT RESTAURANT!! so,.. i'll finish your basement if you let me live there.
I love all your loot!! Ok, I just realized that Dano went to Philly this week and he doesn't know you live there and you guys could have hooked up? Duh, what was I thinking. I'll have to see what's up for the next time he's there for work and maybe I can sneak in his suitcase. I love that you two are so much fun!!
My husband would be incredibly jealous. He could play arcade games for days on end! But we've never ended up with anything nearly as cool as your loot!
