I have a love/hate relationship with the blogging world. I love to see what others are up to, but I spend waaay too much time looking at other people's craft and sewing projects and not enough time working on my own. I would bookmark all the awesome ideas I saw, but my bookmarks were so out of control and cluttered that I never actually looked at them. I would email myself links, but never remember where I stored them. So, I would have to spend more time looking for ideas since I couldn't find the ones I'd already saved. What a vicious cycle!
I have made a goal to spend less time looking and more time doing- and my new found friend is helping make this possible. Meet tumblr!
I heard many people express their love for tumblr, but I didn't jump on board until about a few months ago. And let me tell you, I LOVE it! I can organize all the fun projects I want to try, and since I've shown it to some friends, I can now see all their ideas too. Oh. I am in love. I can spend less time searching and WAY less time trying to remember, and instead decide, quite easily, what projects I want to conquer for the week.
Last week I also decided that I was going to take up cooking as a new hobby. (I hate cooking, so we'll see how long this lasts.) I now have a place to organize all the awesome online recipes that I want to try. No more million bookmarks. No more forgetting where I saw that delish Thanksgiving recipe and searching for hours to find it. I can add it to tumblr!
So, if you haven't checked it out, GO! And if you start to tumble crafts or recipes, let me know so I can follow you.

I have never heard of tumblr before, but I looked at yours and love it! It works so much better for me to be reminded of that thing I want to make with the picture rather than a little blurb in my bookmark. I'm still figuring out how to use it, but I'm now one of your followers!
I hadn't heard of tumblr, but it seems like a great idea. I checked it out, but can't figure out an easy way to add photos to links. Help!
Sara, thanks for sharing this...I had never heard of it. I'd also love to have a place to keep all those craft ideas. But I'm like your friend above...can't figure out how to add photos with the link. Do you copy and paste or is there an easy way? Thanks!
can I just applaud you for introducing me to Tumblr? yay!
