I set my alarm to go off at 5:47am on April 2nd. We had been awakened at 4am by our incredibly loud and not-great nurse, so I was a little groggier than I had hoped, but I wanted to spend a few minutes just remembering that time a year ago and thanking my Heavenly Father for the amazing blessing we had been given.

One year later, 5:47am brought similar emotions to the year before. Gratitude for Arlianne. Love for my husband who I get to share every experience in life with. Thankful for doctors who were taking care of my baby then, and taking care of my baby now. Hope that all would work out and that Hazel would get to go home with us soon. And a new emotion- complete awe at the way that Hazel has changed our lives. We are head over heels in love with this girl and I still cannot believe how blessed we have been. What an amazing year we have had!

Happy Birthday, Hazel. Oh, you are SO loved.
