lake powell

A few days after my family left town, we packed our bags (again) and flew to Utah to spend the week with Isaac's family on a posh houseboat at Lake Powell. I was really nervous about how Hazel would do on the boat, in the water, on the sand, and how stressed out I would be watching her like a hawk. Not having been on a houseboat before, I really didn't know what to expect. Well, let me tell you, it was awesome! The boat was humongous, Hazel loved having so many adoring fans, and we had so much fun with our family.

First up, though, was a quick visit with Arlianne. She picked us up at the airport and she and her mom got a kick out of seeing Hazel walk around the airport and just be her adorable self. And then, lucky enough, they got to spend a few hours listening to poor tired Hazel scream in the car. We love Arlianne so much!

We got to the hotel really late that night, and much to our dismay, they were all out of cribs. I spent the next four hours laying on the floor with Hazel, trying to get her to sleep, both of us crying out of sheer exhaustion. The next morning early departure was a welcome break from the hard floor, and thankfully our trip only got better!
i love everything about this girl. seriously, look at those legs! those sunglasses! that pose!

delish. she is simply delish!

Hazel's first jet ski ride. she is making motor boat noises with her fingers. seriously, could she be cuter?!
One day we had an auction to raise money for Isaac's parent's mission. Isaac was the auctioneer and we had so much fun bidding on toys, crafts, services, food, and more.
I went water skiing for the first time, and on my third attempt, I actually got up! When I asked Isaac why he didn't get a picture of me skiing, he informed me that I wasn't up long enough to get a picture. Ha, it felt like I was up for at least a good 10 seconds!
Isaac tore up the lake on the wake board. He also tore up his body when we told him to do a trick and he biffed it... hard. I wish I had gotten it on tape- I think it was good enough to take home the 10k on AFHV.
Isaac helped Preston catch, clean, cook, and eat his very first fish. It was so cute.

Thank you SO much, Russ & Tiff, for the amazing trip!!

Oh, i just love LP! I hope we make it this year. I will be about ready to pop by then though. We took Max last year and it was so overhelming. My dad kept telling me Max was going to fall off to try and scare me. He is such a loving man:) But Max loved it and so did we. I am glad you had fun too.

Hi-I was googling the name Isaac and came across you blog and hoped I could ask you about the name (it is my favorite and I'm expecting a baby boy this summer). Does your husband like his name/did he ever get teased about it or wish he had a different name? Did he ever feel it was too biblical or dislike it as a teenager? Thanks! Dan was right, those sunglasses I bought at the marina were really ugly, I just didn't want to admit it, but the pictures don't lie.
