i displaced my hip

Amidst all of the follow-up testing after Hazel's UTI, it was discovered that she has silent hip dysplasia. (Which means she has hip dysplasia that would never have been diagnosed had they not been doing xrays on her kidneys.)

She has to wear this brace during naps and at night. The first night I put it on her, she was trying to wiggle out of it and started crying. I started crying too- it was sad seeing my baby in this uncomfortable contraption. I leaned over her crib and prayed that she would quickly get used to the brace and be able to sleep like a champ. She immediately quieted down and went to sleep.

It is funny (and pathetic) to see her hobble around the crib in this. But thank heavens, she is used to it and it doesn't bother her at all.
here we are reading books before bedtime, in her brace. hazel wanted to wear this funny hat, because she loves hats.
she certainly didn't displace her funny bone. (haha, lame.)

That contraption does look uncomfortable! Hopefully wearing it will do her some good.

She has the sweetest, heart melting smile, doesn't she?

How long is she required to wear the brace?

Sad! What a blessing about the UTI, as scary as that all was, to find out about the hip displasia. Funny how things work out. LOVE the second to last pic. Oh I miss her!!
