stress relief

Today Hazel and I enjoyed a lovely morning of party shopping at Target followed by lunch at Ikea. After eating, I put Hazel in one of those impossible-to-steer carts and we meandered through the isles. We were chatting and singing and pointing out all of the fun things when Hazel reached out and held my hand.

I immediately choked up and squeezed her little hand back as love filled my heart. I don't know if it was the fact that my baby is turning two next week, or because it was at almost the exact same spot that Arlianne called us for the very first time, or that I have been overly stressed about Isaac graduating and finding a job, but I had to hold back the tears of gratitude for all my blessings as we continued our outing.

Life is (more than) a little stressful right now and I've been doing my fair share of worrying about the future, but I've got the two best people in the world at my side, and every little thing is gonna be alright.
