this little piggy

We knew we needed to do something the day Keri left to get Hazel's mind off of her sadness. Hazel had been saving up money for months, and kept saying that she wanted to buy a bean bag chair. So, we let her break open her piggy bank, we counted the money, and then went to the store to pick out her new bean bag!

She chose a piggy one, then changed her mind and went with an elephant (they are more like big pillows than bean bags). We were in line to check out when she declared that she really, really, really wanted the piggy one, so back we went. I went ahead of Hazel and told the woman that Hazel was going to hand her bags full of change, but to secretly give them back to me and I'd pay with a credit card. She was on board, and did a great job thanking Hazel for her money and giving her the piggy. She then slipped the coins into a shopping bag and gave them back to me.

We got in the car and she promptly fell fast asleep while holding fast to her new pig. What a fun and exhausting couple of weeks we had!

Hazel loooves her pig, and spends hours (maybe half hours) every day snuggled up on him reading books. She is saving money again, but I'm not sure what she want to buy this time. She keeps asking for princess legos, so maybe that will be our next goal?

That is so much fun, Sara! And that looks like a very good sized pig. p.s. loved your sunglasses in the other post. Did you save them from elementary school, perhaps? I can't believe that's cool again!
