we are family, get up everybody and sing

While the youth were at EFY, we were able to spend a few days with our families. It had been almost a year since we had seen everyone, and we never realize how much we miss out on until we are back home. Our adorable nieces and nephews are growing like weeds, our brothers and sisters are going gray-er, our parents are getting busier, and WE MISS THEM!

With Isaac's chosen field of study, we really don't know where we will end up after he graduates (many, many years from now). We have always said that we don't really have a desire to move back to Utah; this trip, however, we both decided that we could picture ourselves moving back. It has been a really good experience to live here, but really, WE MISS OUR FAMILIES!

So Isaac, hurry up and graduate so we don't miss out too much more.

Anyway, back to our trip.... we had a great time (have I mentioned that yet?). My family had our second annual reunion. Spence even flew out from California to be there. My mom and sister put together a two-day carnival, with games, crafts, food, prizes, contests, the whole works. Isaac's family came to a lot of the activities with the youth, so we were able to spend a bunch of time with them almost every day.

Ah, families, how we miss thee.

I just want you to know that I would be OK with you moving back to Utah!

Mmm you have never said you don't have a desire to move back. Have you been hiding something from me? You always said that you really wanted to but didn't think it could happen...I'm starting to wonder. That's alright :)
However, I think it can be good both ways and I can see so many benefits of only depending on eachother.
It's sometimes hard to live so far from family. We don't get to know each other as well because we're so far apart. It's sometimes hard trying to think of memories together. This time around we were able to get some good ones in though and we're so glad.
I think Russ and I will probably eventually move away just to explore and such. Maybe we'll be gone when you're here. Who knows.
Whatever happens is probably going to be what is best. It's a good idea to get out and explore the world for now and look how much good you're doing! You're changing lives!

A little too deep? Perhaps.
xoxo working on your video though!
