We arrived at 6pm, and were told that the doors didn't open until 6:30. When we showed them our tickets, however, we were told to go right in! We had access to two private club areas with all-you-could-eat food and beverages. That alone was heaven to me. After filling our bellies with some good eats, we headed out to the court. Isaac was delighted to find that we could walk all over, anywhere we wanted. We were standing right at the court, watching the Jazz warm up, and then we realized we could also be getting autographs. So we ran to a gift shop and got a ball for the players to sign, and borrowed a pen from another fan (we were so ill prepared, we had no idea we would be right there), and luckily had our phones to capture some pictures. We met a bunch of players, got a lot of autographs, and had a great time feeling like VIPs. The poor common folk still hadn't even been let into the stadium yet!
After the whole team came back onto the court to warm up, I yelled something in Russian to AK-47 (I don't remember what I yelled, and it could have been vulgar for all I know) and he turned to look at me. I gave him a thumbs up, and he thumbs up-ed me back. Did I mention we were on the second row? As in, on the hardwood floor, right next to the players. It was pretty dang cool. And during the fourth quarter, we moved up into some vacated seats on the first row. As in, the first row, no one in front of us. That was pretty dang cool too. And they won, which also = cool.
