god be with you till we meet again

The day before Isaac's graduation, we spent the day in New York City so Jerome could go through the temple. It was a really great day! The next day right after graduation, we headed back to church for Jerome's farewell party. Due to complete lack of time it wasn't much to look at, but we had a great time anyway!

it had been a long day week month.
Monday evening Jerome was set apart as a missionary, so I spent the next 24 hours being Elder Stewart's companion. We visited friends, he treated me to lunch at Micky Ds, ran errands, and we packed. And packed and packed.

Rome with the Bishop. And yes, the shirt Elder Stewart is wearing does still have the tags on. He thought it was cooler that way. I wonder if the people in Uganda think so too.

The next evening we packed his two bags, one backpack, leftover Jamaican Jerk chicken, and our nervous hearts into the car. I couldn't believe this was really happening! Our Jerome was actually going on a mission! After years of teaching and praying and hoping and guiding and nurturing.... and cajoling and correcting and sleepless nights and fasts and gray hairs, it was actually happening.

Jerome's family and friends came to the airport to say goodbye
jerome and his parents and niece

How incredibly blessed we are that this awesome Elder has become a part of our family. We miss him a lot and if you ask Hazel where Jerome is, she gets sad and says, "Apripa". But I know that this is where the Lord wants him to be for the next two years.

His three weeks at the South Africa MTC went great, he is now officially in Uganda, and has already baptized "4-9" people. (I'm not sure why the range, if he lost count or something, but that's classic Jerome for you.)

Now if we can just get Kilief out the door....

Wow--You guys are amazing. I can't believe all the work you've done for J&K. They are lucky kids to have such awesome "parents"! :)
