the rock

A few weeks after my birthday, I cashed in my present and went to Alcatraz. Isaac's cousin and family came with us. (We have seen them so much in the past few months and we love it!)

We started off our day with lots of donuts and an incredibly crowded ferry ride to San Francisco. It was also Fleet Week, so there were tons of people headed into the city and tons of boats and battleships in the water. Pretty cool.

this is my awkward, 'i'm so thrilled to be at alcatraz for my birthday present', face
in the cell. (i make a lot of awkward faces. you should see my drivers license. no, you shouldn't, i will never show you.)

they were doing some battleship reinactments on the water. really cool.

those are some steep streets
so beautiful. can you believe we live here?!

After Alcatraz we ate clam chowder while watching the air show.
