The past few months have been kind of a blur- two trips to Utah for Thanksgiving and Christmas, lots of sickness, preschool, sewing, more sickness, shopping, wrapping, playing, eating, parties. Lots and lots of fun.
We started off the month by casting our vote. Hazel was quite broken up about the outcome- as were we- and was still in tears a month later!
A few weeks after the election, Hazel randomly asked, "Are the polls closed?"
Me: "The pools?"
Hazel: "No, the polls. When are they going to close the polls?"
Me: "The polls? Like to vote?"
Hazel: "Yes"
Me: "Well, they are already closed. Do you remember who won?"
Hazel: "Mitt Womney?"
Me: "Nope."
Hazel: "President Obama?"
Me: "Yep"
Hazel: "But I wanted Mitt Womney to win! I voted for him!"
.... This conversation has been repeated many times since the election :)
We had lots of fun at preschool in November, learning about Pilgrims and Native Americans.

We had a nice visit from my Aunt and Uncle, who always bring little gifts for Hazel. She loves them! |
We then decided to take a last-minute trip to visit my sister while Isaac went to Spain (for work... or as I see it, a vacation.) Hazel was super excited.

I'm so glad to know that my little ones aren't the only kids broken up about an election I didn't think they understood at all.
I'm glad to know it isn't just my kids that are broken up about an election I didn't think they really knew or cared much about!
