A bunch more things to catch up all, all lumped into one post...
Our first trip to the beach:
It was much too cold to wear swimsuits, and when Hazel was playing
near the water in her jacket, a wave knocked her off her feet and she
was left without a jacket the rest of the time. It was so chiiilly. Isaac had a great time surfing and I caught some really fun waves on the boogie board. Isaac is trying to decide if he wants a wetsuit for Christmas or if we'll just keep renting one. You cannot get in the freezing water without one!
Our first trip to San Fran:
We ate soup at the Wharf, got a Ghirardelli sundae, and spent a lot of time at the
Musee Mecanique- which was pretty much our favorite place. I love that we can go to San Francisco in the morning, spend a few hours, and make it home in time for Hazel's nap. Perfect!

the museum had all of these old time arcade machines- they had everything from pictures of the earthquake in "3-D" to hangings to big band stuff. visitors, you should definitely stop here, we had a great time. |

watching the seals and sea lions |
Daddy-Daughter Campout:
Our Stake had a daddy-daughter campout and Isaac decided that he and Hazel would go. Maybe the cutest thing he's ever done. She was so excited and the two of them had a great time! She was the youngest girl there- by far- and of course she had a flock of older girls following wherever she went.

a little chilly the next morning |
Our Third Annual Spaghetti Dinner:
Three days in October are very special to us. On October 8, 2009, Hazel's adoption was finalized. On October 9,
2008, Hazel's birthmother contacted us for the very first time, and on October 10, 2009, we were sealed as a family in the Bountiful Temple. This year we went to Alcatraz to celebrate our finalization day, and our Family Anniversary was celebrated with dinner out and an attempt at a family bowling night (dang league night ruined my plans). Hazel was thrilled with our last minute trip to the ice cream parlour though. Why do I have no pictures of our Family Anniversary?!
But, I do have pictures of our Annual Spaghetti dinner, which we always have on October 9th to celebrate the day that Arlianne contacted us (see
here for why spaghetti).

i made special "spaghetti" cupcakes for dessert. |
 |
i think someone was happy with her cupcake! |
And some happenings summed up with one picture each:

Isaac & Haze love to bike around the bay |

Haze sleeps in a big girl bed, and sometimes on the floor. |

Hazel
sliced the back of her foot during nursery. It was really deep so we
took her to the ER, thinking it needed stitches. She pulled off the
bandaid while we were there and said, "Awesome!" (No stitches, they just
glued it back together. She's got a pretty great scar on the back of
her foot now, and we've got a hole in our wallet.) |
 |
isaac has become obsessed with fishing, and so has hazel. they go out for hours! |
 |
we love having a playground so close to our house. we spend pretty much every morning and lots of afternoons here. |

our visit to the aquarium with cousins |

Isaac's commute to work. A little bit different than Philly! :) |

Hey, I've been enjoying all the updates. Congratulations on your move! I'm not sure where you are, but my brother moved out to Folsom a year ago and he also gets to bike to work and it seems so nice out there. I couldn't help but be interested in how Hazel cut her foot on nursery? A young girl in our ward cut her foot/ankle really badly at church because of those dividers they use to separate the rooms...her foot kind of got stuck under the edge and sliced her Achilles tendon. Just wondering if it could be the same for Hazel? It seems that those things are pretty dangerous... Anyway, I love all your family celebrations and think you do such a great job of remembering special days. It's inspiring!
Looks like you guys have been having fun! Happy anniversary! I was thinking about you guys, it was so fun to see you sealed the week before our wedding!
