october, come and gone

Life has been busy, with visitors and traveling and playing and enjoying our west coast life.

Hazel and I spent the morning at a street festival while Isaac was out of town-

We love living so close to a great park. We love to play catch, soccer, go on bike rides, and play on the playground of course!

Hazel has an incredible imagination. One of her favorite games is called "Cheetah, Cheetah, Run, Run." She dresses up in this cheetah outfit (that has been passed down in my family for years) and runs. Then I have to catch her and put her in the zoo. Sometimes I'm in the zoo. Sometimes we are running away to the wild. Sometimes we are mean, sometimes we are nice, sometimes we sleep or eat or run errands as cheetahs.

I'm still teaching preschool twice a week, and we've been busy with art projects and lots of halloween fun!

I walked in to Hazel's room one day to find her like this. I was just in time to save her from being sacrificed by her animals!

There is this little community garden in our town that had a cute little fall festival. The best part- it was ALL free- pumpkins, games and prizes, and food. What a perfect way to spend a Saturday morning!

We headed into the city one evening to watch the BMX dirt jumping finals of the Dew Tour. It was pretty cool.

on the train ride home: "Hazel, what does that sign say?"  "No toothpaste!"

Aaaand, that about sums up October. Except for Halloween, which gets its own post of course.
